Big, boldly grained wood cylinder beads combine with gleaming brass squash and silvery washed metal melon beads in this '80s vintage Kenneth Lane single strand, opera length necklace. All the stops were pulled in the 1980s when jewelry finally regained the strength and power it had not seen since the '60s. Kenneth Lane, or Kenneth Jay Lane, aka KJL was on the forefront -- riding the wave of substance and style. Presented is his 1980s vintage single strand necklace with huge wood, marvelously grained barrel beads , each separated by large, brass squash beads and white washed, silvery metal melon beads.
The necklace is approximately 30 inches long with a spring ring clasp. Wood beads are about 30 millimeters x 22 millimeters; brass metal beads, approximately 20 millimeters x 8 millimeters thick. Weight of the necklace is about 130 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. All wood beads have beautifully integrated graining with no stains, discoloration or damage. Brass and silver toned beads free from dents or improper bends. All retain as created antiquing / white washing with age appropriate patina. Stand appear secure with no slack. Spring ring clasp strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
