Three levels and three shades of blue rhinestones line this glorious tiered '60s vintage brooch in lustrous rhodium plate. At center a large emerald cut, marine blue rhinestone rests. It is framed with ice blue baguette rhinestones. The next step rises to a larger framework of complementing ice blue baguette rhinestones. The third, or top level is set with narrower, Bermuda blue, baguette rhinestones interspersed with like colored chaton rhinestones. Although it is difficult to gauge in the photos the dimension is superb with tiers rising to about 1/2 inch. Plating is in expensive rhodium -- a telltale indication, along with premium stones and construction, that the brooch is of better quality.
It measures approximately 2 inches x 1 1/2 inches with a 1/2 inch profile. Large center emerald cut stone is about 18 millimeters x 13 millimeters. Outermost Bermuda blue baguettes are approximately 7 millimeters x 4 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is about 26 grams.
Condition is excellent / pristine vintage. All components original and intact. All rhinestones intact, retaining superb color and brilliance. Absolutely no discolored, dull or dead stones. No chips, cracks, nicks, or breaks to stones. All rhodium plate intact, front and back. All soldering secure. No dents, improper bends or collapse. Pin mechanism strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Pristine vintage.
The brooch is not signed. Design, materials, and construction indicate superior quality. Circa 1960s.
