Gorgeous pink slag glass is the focal point of this authentic 1930s vintage Art Deco necklace, assembled with wire for strength and durability. The slag glass lozenge beads (approx. 10 mm x 12mm) have star patterns pressed on each side. Coloring varies from intense pink to fluffier pink, to white. Two of the slag glass beads have wonderful cone shaped mother of pearl beads on each end. The remaining pink beads use clear saucer shaped crystal glass beads as caps. Elongated (7/16 inch) pink salmon colored glass tube beads complete the chain portion of the necklace. The shield shaped faceted slag art glass pendant uses a pink slag glass bead, capped with crystal beads, as the bail. The art glass pendant has beautiful striations in pinks and white throughout. Clasp is screw barrel type.

The necklace's wearable length is approximately 18 inches. The pendant with bail adds an additional 2 1/2 inches. The pendant proper is about 1 1/2 inches x 7/8 inch x 1/4 inch thick. It has a top flat table with faceted gently pointed back.

Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. Slag glass beads and pendant are magnificent with pressed patterns and / or marbling to be fully appreciated in person. MOP beads retain luminous pearlized finish. Fourth salmon colored tube bead from the clasp has an approximate 1 mm x 1 mm chip on one side. Screw barrel clasp strong and secure. Wires and jump rings have a brass tone patina. Please keep in mind that the necklace is approximately 70 to 80 years old. When assessing condition I take many aspects into consideration. Age, rarity, composition and desirability are key in determining to what extent an issue factors into condition. The necklace may not be perfect but I do consider it to be excellent vintage. I think you'll agree.
