Vogue Jewelry, founded by Harold Shapiro (of Les Bernard) along with George Grant and Jack Gilbert, produced jewelry and accessories from 1936-1977. Known for it's quality bead jewelry, the firm also created wonderful rhinestone pieces, though examples are more difficult to discover. Presented, is a plume shaped, step tiered rhinestone brooch in silver tone, circa 1950s-1960s, generously sized with an assortment of brilliant rhinestones -- marquises, pears, baguettes and chatons -- all handsomely arranged in one clearly magnificent statement. Vogue's high standards are obvious in it's design, materials, and construction choices. Quality vintage is ageless.
The brooch measures about 3 inches x 1 1/2 inches at it's widest with a 1/2 inch profile, rise or dome. Largest marquises are approximately 15 millimeters x 7 millimeters. Top layer baguettes are about 6 millimeters x 5 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is approximately 28 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestones intact and brilliant. No chips, crack or breaks. All tiers / layers remain in place with neat, secure soldering. No dents, bends or collapse. All silver tone finish intact, front and back. Pin shaft straight. Pin mechanism strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Please keep in mind that although the brooch was created in the 1950s-1960s and will not appear brand new. it's presentation remains uncompromised. Excellent vintage.
Reverse of the brooch is signed "VOGUE JLRY".
