Trifari lead the pack with it's ubiquitous pearl ensembles -- the so called Under the Sea line. The company's vast portfolio included myriad designs with countless bead, pearl and stone combinations. With a hint of Byzantium, Trifari presents it's early 1950's vintage double strand necklace featuring two sizes of creamy, baroque faux pearls interspersed with studded twist golden metal cylinder / barrel beads. Simulated pearls are separated by tiny crimped gold tone metal beads. Fancy end bars, imitation pearl extension chain and hook closure complete the necklace.
The necklace's top strand is adjustable to about 19 inches. Larger faux pearls are approximately 8 millimeters. Metal cylinder beads are about 14 millimeters x 8 millimeters. Weight of the necklace is approximately 76 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. Strands appear secure with no slack or over pull. Nice drape. All simulated pearls retain nacre and luster, as well as even, creamy color. All gold tone finishes intact. No verdigris. Very clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Necklace is signed on it's original hook: "TRIFARI" no copyright symbol. The necklace also retains it's metal crowned "T" hangtag. Design, materials, construction and overall presentation, in conjunction with mark date the necklace circa 1950-1954.
