Presenting another fine creation from the folks at DeLizza & Elster, circa 1950s. Emerald green marquises and chatons pair with green aurora borealis chatons in this exuberant floral spray from one of vintage costume jewelry's most celebrated makers -- D & E -- a firm famously known for it's Juliana line. The silver tone brooch offered exhibits characteristics consistent with the company's work, including figure 8 solder puddling. riveting, pin back construction, stone selections and arrangements as well as overall presentation. Stem and vein metals with ab rhinestones cup set in deep channels are also signature D & E fabrication. From front to back -- DeLizza & Elster.
The brooch measures about 3 inches x 2 3/8 inches at it's widest point with a 1/2 inch maximum profile or height. Largest marquises are approximately 15 millimeters; largest chatons, about 8 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is approximately 34 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestones intact and brilliant, retaining color and aurora borealis finishes. No cloudy, off, or dead stones. No chips, cracks nicks or breaks to stones. Silver tone finish intact, front and back. Some minor finish wear to reverse and shaft of pin. All soldering secure. Pin mechanism strong and secure. Clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
As expected, the 1950's vintage brooch is not signed. We are confident it is the work of DeLizza & Elster.
