Late Victorian influences weigh heavily in this Edwardian era necklace. Ribbed columns of ribbon arch above the flat o ring surfaced medallion. An applied, decorated, center plaque featuring fleur de lis ornaments at each corner, anchors. Double swags of finely ribbed, wide rings link to complimenting plaque stations. Bilateral single strand chains culminate in a spring ring closure. Fabricated in heavy brass tone metal, the necklace fits, as style dictated, quite closely on the neck -- choker length.
It measures a fixed, approximate 15 1/2 inches. Station to station span is about 8 inches. Center oval medallion is approximately 1 3/4 inches x 1 5/8 inches with a maximum 1/4 inch profile or thickness. Necklace weight is about 48 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components appear original and are intact. No apparent reworking. All links secure. No dents, improper bends or collapse. Consistent, age appropriate materials and patina. Use and handling high and low lights. Expected and appreciated age commensurate wear. No polishing or abrasive cleaning has been done. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
The necklace is not signed. Design, materials, construction and overall presentation suggest Edwardian vintage.
