Presenting a 1940s vintage Art Moderne link bracelet in sterling silver from the Uris Sales Corporation of NYC. The bracelet comes in it's original presentation box with attached tags. Each of the bracelet's ten links are cast in a high relief botanical design -- it appears to be that of a highly stylized thistle blossom. Detail and dimension are outstanding with a superb patina. Art Moderne's often exaggerated subjects were interpreted exuberantly and energetically, a juxtaposition of curves and angles. The bracelet pictured repeats the design in it's ten links, each with heavily beaded side borders. Two smooth links connect each panel. A wide push in box clasp secures the bracelet.
The bracelet is an approximate fixed 7 1/4 inches x 7/8 inch wide. It weighs about 28 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. No dents or improper bends. All links secure. Clasp strong and secure. Patina is outstanding with high relief points in high luster and background, creases and crevices with a more anodized or patinated finish. Clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage. Included paper box has undamaged and stain free cream colored satin lined interior bottom. The top of box and sides have some wear and stains. Paper "hinge" is intact. Box very good vintage.
At top of box an affixed foiled tag reads" "Uris Sales Corp NYC". Whether this company was a manufacturer or distributor is unclear. The box retains it's original bendable tabs that hold the bracelet secure. One of these tabs also sports a red threaded foiled paper tag that reads "Uris Sales Corp NYC" along with inventory information of the reverse. The satin lining also has a red sticker imprinted with "STERLING". Reverse of the bracelet is also signed: "STERLING". Bracelet original to box. Circa 1940s.
A beautifully designed and executed bracelet in the 1940s Art Moderne style. As fresh and fashionable as when created. From the Uris Sales Corporation of New York City.
