Embellished with beautiful gem tone glass stone colors in sapphire blue, emerald green and ruby red, our '40s vintage sterling silver crown pin / pendant is fit for royalty. Details include rosettes, beading, and a fleur de lis topper. Glass stones (unfoiled and open backed) feature faceted oval cuts flanking a gorgeous briolette in center. Sterling crown pins were enormously popular in the 1940s, produced by myriad makers, including Trifari and Coro, two of the most famous.
The pin / pendant pictured measures about 1 9/16 inches x 1 1/2 inches with a 1/4 inch profile. There is a loop at reverse of crown's bottom. It appears that the crown would be worn top side down as a pendant. A bail may be required (not included) and your favorite chain. a must, to be used as a pendant necklace. Briolette or pear shaped stone is approximately 21 millimeters x 8 millimeters. Oval or oblong stones are about 13 millimeters x 8 millimeters. Weight of the sterling pin / pendant is approximately 12 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. It appears there may be a tiny indentation at red stone's top at right prong. We believe this was inherent in the stone's creation and not a result of damage. It is very difficult to see and although we don't believe it affects the pieces beauty or value, it warrants mentioning. No other issues with any stones. Beautiful gem tone colors. Sterling silver framework free from dents or improper bends. Most of our clients prefer vintage sterling's time acquired patina so we have left polishing to the buyer's discretion. Pin mechanism secure. Loop secure.
