Medium and large, lemon yellow Venetian swirled beads command and hold our attention in Miriam Haskell's '50s - '60s vintage flower blossom necklace with faceted yellow glass barrel bead spacers. Tiny metal beads accent throughout. Hook style closure is embellished with an eight petal bead wired metal blossom topped with a yellow glass blossom. while extension tail consists of five yellow beads. Haskell jewelry is a cornucopia of fantastic fantasy beads. Virtually ever color, shape and size was available in it's vast inventory. Fortunately for us, many fine examples of Haskell's bead work survive.
Haskell's sunny disposition shows in it's single strand tribute to yellow. The necklace is adjustable to about 16 inches with decorated hook style closure and beaded extension tail. Largest swirl beads are approximately 16 millimeters x 15 millimeters. Floral blossom beads are about 11 millimeters. Weight of the necklace is approximately 45 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All glass beads free from chips, nicks, cracks or breaks. Wonderful, bright lemon yellow color with superb luster. Metal spacer beads do show marked patina but appear to be secure. Stand appear secure with no slack. Hook soldering and bead wiring secure. No damage / no repair. Outstanding color and presentation.
The necklace is signed on it's original hook "MIRIAM HASKELL". The necklace also retains it's original two sided oval silver tone metal hang tag stamped: "MIRIAM HASKELL". Design, color, material, construction, and over presentation, in conjunction with marks suggest a 1950s-1960s vintage.
