A beautifully striated oval Tiger's Eye cabochon framed by dramatic beaded framework is the focal point of Miriam Haskell's golden brooch with chain garlands / festoons, suspended from various levels, draped in graduated lengths. In typical Haskell fashion, the brooch is constructed with a top and back layer in her signature Russian gold tone finish. The high domed cab has gradations of brown / caramel colors associated with Tiger's eye matrix quartz -- a perfect complement to the Russian gold tone metal finish.
The brooch measures about 2 7/8 inches long including chain swags x 1 3/4 inches with a 7/16 inch profile. Oval cab is approximately 16 millimeters x 11 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is about 16 grams.
Condition is very good vintage. All components intact. Tiger's eye cab free from chips, nicks, cracks or breaks with superb natural color. Metal free from improper bends or dents. There is a substantial patina, particularly on the front. Some areas darker than others. No polishing or abrasive cleaning has been done. No rust / verdigris. All chain link intact. Pin shaft has slight bend to it but functions fine. Locking wheel secure. No damage / no repairs.
Reverse of brooch is signed within an oval cartouche: "Miriam Haskell".
