An explosion of color pervades this marvelous Nouveau / Deco transitional dress clip, circa 1915-1920s. Retaining much of it's golden finish with appropriate patina, the filigree metal laces around six leaf sprigs at center. A multitude of pronged, unfoiled and open back set art glass chatons grace the clip in blue, red, green, citrine and amethyst. Dentelle facets enhance selected stones. Smaller cup set chaton rhinestones in pink, red, citrine and light blue accent. The clip appears transitional, with both Nouveau and Deco influences. Spectacular color dominates,

The clip measures about 2 1/2 inches x 1 7/8 inches x 1/4 inch. Large stones are approximately 7 millimeters -- smaller chatons, about 4 millimeters. Weight of the clip is approximately 22 grams.

Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. Stones appear to be original with outstanding color and brilliance. No chips, nicks, cracks or breaks. Smaller cup set stones have some slight clouds, commensurate with age. Brass tone finish has appropriate patina. Embossed clip mechanism strong and secure with signature contact and age rubs to gold tone finish. No damage / no repairs. Remarkable vintage condition.

The clip is not signed. It has many characteristics of Czech work, yet remains unattributed.

Please note: In all but one of the front photos the clip is photographed inverted. The widest top portion gently tapers to bottom in an ovoid shape.
