Guglielmo Cini (1922-1979) emigrated to the United States from Italy and began creating his signature sterling silver pieces in Boston before moving to Laguna Beach, CA in 1957. The sterling brooch / pendant combo offered, utilizing gorgeous faceted, heavy pronged, pear shaped art glass stones in icy blue, hails from the 1950s-1960s. (Stone accented Cini sterling jewelry of the '50s-'60s was produced in limited quantities and is rarely encountered.) The trio of stones is unfoiled and open backed in high rise cradle settings featuring pierced side repousse silver work. The loop at top of pin can be used to function as a necklace pendant.
The brooch measures about 1 5/8 inches x 1 1/2 inches with a 5/16 inch profile or height. The large pear shaped blue glass stones are approximately 16 millimeters x 12 millimeters. Weight of the brooch / pendant is about 12 grams.
Condition is excellent / pristine vintage. All components original and intact. All glass stones free from chips, nicks, cracks or breaks. Gorgeous even icy blue color. Sterling base free from dents or improper bends. All soldering neat and secure. Pin back straight, strong and secure. Clean and RTW. As our buyers prefer, patina remains -- no polishing has been done. No damage / no repairs. Pristine vintage.
Reverse of top loop is signed in script: "Cini" with "STERLING" preceding.
