Tortolani's creations in Los Angeles during the '50s-'60s are some of the company's most popular. Botanical themes were important with myriad floral and foliage designs. Many Tortolani pieces featured distinctive silver tone, silver plated, or anodized silver finishes. Size was also a priority. Tortolani did much of it's work in a big way. Oversized brooches and earrings, as the set offered, made a striking statement and continue to adorn the lapels and lobes of aficionados.

The '60s vintage set includes the massive leafy brooch at approximately 4 inches x 2 1/2 inches at it's widest point with a generous 3/4 inch profile and the matching leaf clip earrings, at about 1 1/2 inches x 1 inch. Weight is a hefty 82 grams.

Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. Silver tone finish intact. Some sections and striations / veins are anodized (blackened) as are reverses. No polishing has been done in order to retain the patina. No dents or improper bends. Pin back and earring clips strong and secure. Earring clips retain original, clean comfort inserts. No damage / no repairs.

Reverse of brooch is signed in cursive: "Tortolani" preceded by copyright symbol. Each earring body back is also signed in cursive: "Tortolani" preceded by copyright symbol.
