Impressive size and statement in gold over sterling silver from Coro, circa early 1940s. Classic, floral design features sweeping double stems and single coiled leaf spear bound with a twist of ribbon. Dual blossoms accented with rhinestones in primary red, blue and green add spark. Signature Coro sterling work from the period with early Art Moderne influence.
The vermeil brooch measures a generous, approximate 4 1/4 inches x 3 inches at it's widest point with a 1/2 inch maximum profile. Rhinestones are about 3 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is approximately 25 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. All vermeil gold finish intact with no rubs or wear through. Brooch retains shape. Minimal, age commensurate handling effects. Rhinestones are original and retain color and sparkle. Pin back straight, strong and secure. Very clean. Polishing is left to the buyer's discretion. (We do not recommend using silver polish on vermeil finishes.) No damage / no repairs.
Reverse of brooch is signed within a rectangular cartouche: "Coro" in familiar script and "STERLING" in block caps.
