A trio of octagon shaped faux lapis cabochons grace this lustrous golden cable link chain necklace from Christian Dior, circa 1960s-70s. Deep blue, subtly speckled stones are bezel like set within substantial closed back frames. An easy crossover from casual to dress -- Dior does it all.
The necklace is adjustable from about 16 inches to 18 inches with "CD" charmed extension chain and fold over clasp closure. The three stone decorative center span approximately 5 inches with a 5/8 maximum width. Chain width is about 1/2 inch. Largest cab is approximately 12 millimeters x 10 millimeters. Flanking stones are about 8 millimeters x 6 millimeters. Weight of the necklace is approximately 36 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. Simulated lapis cabs free from chips, nicks, cracks or breaks with even, saturated blue color. All gold tone finish intact, front and back. No wear through. No dents or improper bends to links or settings. Clasp strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Near pristine vintage.
Reverse of clasp is signed: "Chr. Dior" and copyright symbol. Inside of the fold over clasp is stamped: "GERMANY". One side of end "CD" charm is impressed: "Chr. Dior" and copyright symbol. No mistaking this beauty for anything but genuine vintage Christian Dior. As fashionable today as when created.
