During the 1970s Anne Klein contracted with the venerable Accessocraft company (circa 1935-1998) to create a limited line of quality fashion jewelry. The example offered in silver tone, features a stylized peacock pendant, cast in high relief, flanked by a large rectangular faux amethyst, faceted art glass stone. Substantial, bilateral box chains secure with a screw barrel clasp. Oft seen accessorizing the ubiquitous turtleneck, '70s vintage pendant style necklaces easily adapt to the fashion trends of any era.
The necklace is a fixed approximate 25 inches with screw barrel clasp. The pendant is about 1 13/16 inches x 1 1/2 inches with a 3/8 profile or thickness. The unfoiled and open backed purple glass stone is about 30 millimeters x 9 millimeters. Weight of the necklace is approximately 52 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. Art glass stone free from chips, nicks, cracks or breaks with deep amethyst color. All silver tone finish intact. No wear through or rubs. All jump rings secure. Semi flexible chains free from kinks or bends. Clasp strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs.
The pendant is signed on reverse: "ANNE KLEIN FOR ACCESSOCRAFT". The necklace also retains it's original metal hangtag stamped: "ANNE KLEIN FOR ACCESSOCRAFT".
