At nearly 3 inches across, this extensively researched and referenced 1960s vintage D & E layered rhinestone and faux hematite brooch won't get lost in translation! Glistening marquise art glass hematite cabs are juxtaposed with smoky quartz colored chaton rhinestones. The center round hematite cab is surrounded by clear round brilliants. Setting is japanned metal. The top layer is slightly raked for the superb dimension, DeLizza & Elster is noted for. Presentation is, of course, outstanding. Size, stone selection and statement are textbook Juliana.
The brooch measures about 2 7/8 inches across with a 1/2 inch profile. Center cab is approximately 17 millimeters. Largest chatons are each about 9 millimeters. Weight is a generous approximate 52 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All faux hematite stones have superb finish and reflection. No damage noted. All smoky quartz colored rhinestones intact, and sparkly. "White" stones uniformly clear and brilliant. All japanned finish intact, front and back. Pin back straight, strong and secure. All soldering secure. No repairs. While in excellent vintage condition, please note that the brooch is approximately 50 years old and may show some commensurate age / use.
As we know, Juliana was marked with paper tags. The jewelry itself was not signed. This brooch, along with matching pieces is often seen in Juliana reference guides. It is guaranteed to be as identified.
Where there's smoke, there's fire. Fan the flames with D & E's hematite delight. Pin it on at Cody's.
