Classic, 1940's vintage elegance. Sparkle and style in one statement. Bilateral rhinestone chains converge at center to form a crest like pendant. The rhinestone chains are soldered together at front then flare out, canopy style with a sparkling banner at bottom. All portions are set with brilliant clear rhinestones in chaton and marquise cuts. Choker length ensures that the sparkle will be seen up close, front and center.
The silver tone necklace measures a fixed approximate 15 1/2 inches with fold over clasp. The pendant drops an additional 1 3/4 inches. It is about 1 7/8 inches wide. The chaton stones are approximately 3 millimeters. The marquises about 7 millimeters x 3 millimeters. Weight of the choker is about 26 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestones intact and brilliant. No dark or dead stones. Amazing sparkle for stones of this vintage. All silver tone finish intact, front and back. Fold over clasp sections are soldered to chain ends. They are strong and secure. Soldered rhinestone sections remain secure. No damage / no repairs.
The necklace is not signed. It's design, materials, settings and construction as well as the use of fold over clasp rather than hook and tail, lead us to believe the necklace hails from the 1940s -- perhaps the early '50s.
