The look AND feel of luxury. These beads are fantastic! '60s vintage triple strander is chock full of wonderful glass beads, simulating pearls and carnelian. Rounds and oblongs work together beautifully in a burst of creamy ivory and brick red colors. Each bead in knotted between the next. Faux carnelian beads have gold tone caps. The clasp, with a large dogtooth prong set faux carnelian cabochon encircled with gold tone roping, can be worn at side. All beads are high quality glass with outstanding finishes and colors. There is no plastic in this piece. It has substantial heft and weight with fantastic drape and presentation.
The necklace is in the matinee length with a fixed top row of about 23 1/2 inches with push in box type clasp. The bottom stand drapes to about 27 1/2 inches. Oblong imitation carnelian beads are approximately 17 millimeters x 11 millimeters. Faux pearls are about 8 millimeters. The clasp measures about 1 1/4 inches x 1 inch with a 3/8 inch dome. Weight of the necklace is a very generous approximate 170 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. All faux pearls retain nacre and luster with even finishes and no stains. Glass carnelian beads free from chips, nicks, cracks or breaks with spectacular color and subtle striations. All strands appear secure with no slack or over pull. Push in clasp strong and secure. Gold tone finish intact. Minor wear to finish on reverse of clasp only. Very clean. No damage / no repairs. A vintage necklace that presents as fashionably today as when created.
