For your consideration I am offering this earlier Weiss Rhinestone brooch in silvertone with large dentelle faceted chaton rhinestones, as well as emerald and marquise cuts. The brooch's design, materials and workmanship lead me to believe it is one of Weiss's older pins, perhaps from the 1940s to early 1950s. Dentelle faceted chatons(generally more expensive rhinestones)are used in abundance. Bridges running over and under the circle of chatons are set with rich emerald cuts. At top is a crown of triple marquises. Wonderful movement and flow.
The brooch measures approximately 2 5/8 inches x 1 5/8 inches at it's widest point. The bridges create dimension, rising both above and below the main body of the pin.
Condition is excellent vintage with all stones intact and brilliant. No dark or cloudy stones. All soldering secure. There is some wear to the silvertone finish on the reverse of the brooch, revealing the more base metal akin to pot metal. Pin back is straight, strong and secure. No damage / no repairs. Please note that pins of this vintage will not appear brand new.
The brooch is signed on it's reverse within an oval cartouche "WEISS" in block caps.
Please add $4.00 for shipping. Payment is due within five days of sales end. Thanks for taking a look.
