Carolee began in the early 1970s focusing on plus sized pretend pearls that captured the interest of moms and media across America. As the eighties approached, heavier chain link jewelry gained favor and Carolee translated the trend into beautifully textured and finished works. The choker necklace presented, circa 1980s, features chunky, wide chain links in a textured pattern. The rich gold tone reminds us of the famous Russian gold tone finish used (dare we say) by an even more famous maker, known for her pearls as well. Carolee's necklace features a toggle clasp for easy on / off secure closure.
The necklace is a fixed approximate 15 inches. Each oval or oblong chain link is about 16 millimeters x 14 millimeters x 6 millimeters -- very roughly, about 9/16 inch wide. Weight of the necklace is a substantial 127.5 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. All chain links aligned and secure. No dents or improper bends. No scratches or rubs. No loose or pulled links. Toggle clasp strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
The necklace is signed on it's original oval metal hang tag: "Carolee" followed by copyright symbol. Circa 1980s.
