HAR (Hargo of New York) conjures up all things mysterious and exotic -- it's genies, dragons, cobra and Chinese figures among the most fascinating. Also of note are the firm's various figurals including fruits and vegetable motifs. The company, although in business for a short time during the 1950s-1960s became one of the most sought after names in the business, it's best pieces fetching handsome returns.
In addition to it's more esoteric lines, Har produced high quality "everyday" jewelry for conventional occasions. The pinwheel style clip earrings presented, circa 1950s, feature swirling fans with golden tapered blades. Tri-point silver tone centers are set with clear sparkling chaton rhinestones. (Fun fact: Using a combination of silver tone and gold tone settings was a more expensive production process, generally used on better jewelry.) Reverse of earrings feature long arm clip paddles.
The earrings measure approximately 1 inches across with a 3/8 inch profile or height. Tiny rhinestones are about 2 millimeters. Weight of the earrings pair is 18.1 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestone intact and sparkly. No dead stones. No dents, improper bends or crush to metal components. All gold tone and silver tone finishes intact, fronts and backs. Earring clips strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Reverse of one earring body signed: "HAR" with copyright symbol preceding. Circa 1950s.
