The pendant necklace presented, circa 1960s-1970s, exemplifies the characteristic work from Western Germany during this era. Often in these necklaces you will see two varying gold tone chain work finishes / colors. The pendant setting, heavier ornate chain stations, heart bale and spring ring closure have a more antiqued brass tone patina while the finer bilateral chains display a lighter gold tone finish. We have seen this effect on many pieces, particularly necklaces of this type from Germany. We leave the metals unpolished with their original patinas / finishes.

The pendant with it's ornate built up / tiered settings is the perfect stage for rings of stones. Base features faceted opaque blue chaton rhinestones; center circle, lustrous faux pearls and the crowning glory, a large faux turquoise oval cabochon. Sections are riveted to a reverse filigree cover plate. The pendant is suspended by a brass tone heart bale. Bilateral chains include faux pearls, fancy two sided brass tone stations, textured light gold tone chains and a brass tone spring ring closure.

The necklace's wearable length is about 24 inches. Bale and pendant provide an additional 2 3/4 inch drop. Pendant proper is approximately 2 inches x 1 5/8 inches with a 5/8 inch dome. Faux turquoise cab is 30 millimeters x 22 millimeters; opaque blue stones and simulated pearls, 3 millimeters. Weight of the necklace is 28.7 grams.

Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. Cabochon, all stones and pearls retain treatment, colors, and luster. No chips, nicks, cracks, stains or peeling. No dents or improper bends to metal components. All riveting secure. All connections secure. Clean. No damage / no repairs. Gold tone and brass tone finishes / patina intact. Please note that the metals are mixed colors. We do not devalue this characteristic. Consider your preferences.
