Cognac, topaz and moss colored rhinestones in pear, marquise and chaton cuts surround a mesmerizing faux Italian marble cabochon in the mid century pendant necklace presented. Beautifully designed and constructed, the talented maker has coordinated the cab fleck and striation colors with the shades of the rhinestones. The domed, shield shaped pendant also incorporates an attached fluted matte gold tone bail and bilateral golden herringbone chains secured with a fold over clasp.
The necklace has a wearable length of about 16 1/2 inches. The pendant including bail provides and additional 3 1/8 inches. Pendant width is approximately 2 1/4 inches with a 3/4 inch profile or dome. Center glass cab is 25 x 18 millimeters; marquises, 15 millimeters x 7 millimeters and largest chatons, 9 millimeters. Box style herringbone chains are about 2 millimeters thick. Weight of the necklace is 38.1 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. All rhinestones intact, retaining colors, treatments and sparkle. Please note that the moss colored marquise rhinestones are specially treated to impart a more refined glow. All stones including cabochon free of chips, nicks, cracks or breaks. All secure within pronged settings. No dents or improper bends to metal components. Gold tone finish intact, front and back. All soldering secure. Herringbone chains free of kinks, pulls or dents. Super flexible with smooth, silky feel. Fold over clasp strong and secure. Clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
The necklace is not signed. Definitely a talented and trained maker. Circa 1950s.
