Italian brothers Otto, Frank and Jack formed the Pennino company in New York City in 1926. Production of the family's high quality fashion jewelry continued until the mid 1960s. Much of Pennino's jewelry has the look of the "real thing" with classically tailored designs accented by glimmering stones. The firm's restraint and refinement is reflected in the spectacular baguette rhinestone necklace and earrings set presented.
Each of the eight rhodium plated leaf cascades feature "invisibly" set slim baguette rhinestones split at center with a shiny spine. Chaton rhinestone rosettes alternate. Bilateral rhinestone chains flank with a rhinestone charmed extension end and hook closure. Matching clip earrings arrange leafs vertically following the ear up and down. Pennino par excellence.
The necklace is adjustable to about 17 inches. Decorative center span approximately 6 1/2 inches x 1 inch wide with a 1/4 inch profile or height. Earrings are a generous 1 5/8 inches x 1 inch. Largest baguettes are about 5 millimeters x 1 millimeter; largest chaton rhinestones, 3 millimeters. Weight of the necklace (46.8 grams) and earrings (16.4 grams) set totals 63.2 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestones intact. There are no chips or breaks to stones. There may be some stones that have slight graying yet the hundreds of slim baguette rhinestone gleam in an absolutely breathtaking presentation! All soldering and connections secure. No dents or improper bends to metal components. Rhodium plate intact, fronts and backs. Necklace closure secure. Earring clips strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
