Mazer Bros., founded in New York in 1923 began jewelry production in 1927. In 1946 the company divided into Mazer / Joseph Mazer and Jomaz, concluding operations in 1981. In their higher lines, the firms utilized the best designs, materials and workmanship, crafting costume jewelry into pieces that were appreciated on their own terms. Costume was here to stay and Jomaz / Mazer elevated the trade new heights.
The six pointed earrings presented are fabricated in lustrous rhodium plate with the addition of gold tone trim. This two tone plating process was more expensive and labor intensive to produce and generally used on premium jewelry. The domed star shaped clip earrings are framed in clear chaton accent rhinestones in rhodium plate. Middle level, in gold tone, showcases emerald green colored chaton rhinestones. Rosette pinnacles pop with glorious aurora borealis chaton rhinestones set in silvery rhodium plate.
The earrings measure approximately 1 3/8 inches across with a generous 1/2 inch profile or height. Ab chaton rhinestones are 4 millimeters, green and clear accent rhinestones, 2 millimeters. Weight of the earrings pair is 24.6 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. Ab rhinestones retain treatment, effect and brilliance. Green rhinestones retain consistent, rich emerald shade and as created sparkle. Edge trim rhinestone clear and brilliant. No off or dead stones. No chips, nicks, cracks or breaks to stones. No dents, improper bends, crush or collapse of metal components. Shape and dome correct. Gold and rhodium finish intact, fronts and backs. Clip backs strong and secure. Clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
