A color scheme in greens, including peridot, forest and olivine enchants in this '50s-'60s vintage pair of gold tone Schreiner earrings All stones are reverse set, including five sizes of round brilliants, and two sizes of marquises. Large center stone is unfoiled and open backed while others are in closed back settings. Clips are traditional Schreiner doughnut / donut hole style. You can see a nearly identical pair's reverse on page 194 in Carole Tanenbaum and Eve Townsend's "Schreiner" book. Along with the design, stones used and construction techniques, we are confident this unsigned pair is indeed Schreiner.
The earrings measure approximately 1 1/4 inches x 1 1/8 inches with a maximum 1/2 inch profile or height. Large center stone is about 18 millimeters; next largest round, 11 millimeters and larger marquise, 10 millimeters. Weight of the earrings pair is 19.5 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All stones original and intact. No chips, nicks, cracks or breaks to prong set glass stones. Crisp faceting. Premium color combination / coordination. Gold tone finish, intact fronts and backs. Clip backs strong and secure. Clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
The earrings are not signed. Design, components, colors, construction and overall presentation indicate a Schreiner provenance. Circa 1950s-1960s.
