Art Moderne at it's most exuberant. Dynamic swirls curl and furl around a magnificent large step cut barrel shaped topaz colored art glass stone. Unfoiled and open back set, the fancy pronged stone enhanced with streams of lush ribbon, proclaims the bold introduction of Art Moderne and the dawn of the golden age of costume jewelry. The fur clip pictured, circa 1940s, is a textbook example of what this brief period embodied.
The clip measures about 2 1/2 inches x 2 1/4 inches with a maximum profile of 1/2 inch. The spectacular topaz glass stone is approximately 31 millimeters x 25 millimeters. It's step cuts and barrel shape make this stone particularly unusual and exciting. The piece weighs about 34 grams.
