D & E knocks it out of the park yet again with it's characteristic coordination of beautiful rhinestones and art glass stones in a layered / domed setting. Circa 1960s, the silver tone brooch presented features large, prong set aurora borealis chaton rhinestones with typical small cup set ab chatons accenting base of center chaton. Arguably, the stars of the show are the remarkable faceted blue art glass marquises (unfoiled and open back set). These specialty stones are some of our favorites in DeLizza & Elster's resplendent repertoire. A trio of blue chaton rhinestones separate each of the large marquises. Presentation is quintessential D & E. Tantalizing and tastefully over the top.
The brooch measures approximately 2 1/2 inches across with a maximum 5/8 inch profile or dome. Blue marquise specialty stones are about 18 millimeters x 9 millimeters; Larges ab chatons, 11 and 9 millimeters and largest blue chatons, 6 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is a generous 40.9 grams.
