Weiss, one of the most preeminent costume jewelers from the 1940s-early 1970s provided accessories in myriad styles and price points. Some would say that along with Coro and Trifari, Weiss reigned supreme in the business of beauty.
The clip, climber style earrings presented, circa 1940s-1950s, feature sparkling rhinestones in passionate purple and pink. The smaller cabochon marquise and pear shaped glass stone are unfoiled and open back set. Pink chaton at base in multi claw set. Settings and clips are in a brass tone finish.
The earrings measure approximately 1 1/4 inches x 7/8 inch with a maximum profile of 1/4 inch. Large marquise rhinestones are about 15 millimeters x 7 millimeters; marquise cabochon, 10 millimeters x 5 millimeters and pink chaton, 6 millimeters. Weight of the earrings pair is 11.3 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. Rhinestones are art glass stone retain colors and sparkle. No chips, nicks, cracks or breaks to stones. All secure within pronged settings. No dents or improper bends to metal components. Brass tone finish intact, fronts and backs. Patina intact. No polishing done. Minor finish wear on earring clips. Clips strong and secure. Clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
