Alice Caviness designed her jewelry to complement fashions with close attention paid to color choices and combination. She began production in the 1940s. After her death in 1983 the Caviness line continued into the 1990s. A noted co-worker, Camille (Millie) Petronzio, designed for Miriam Haskell, as well.
The double mushroom pin presented, circa 1960s-1970s, features lustrous cream enamel caps and finely striated stems and bases. It measures approximately 1 3/4 inches x 1 9/16 inches at it's widest point with a 1/4 inch profile or height. Weight of the brooch is 13.2 grams
Condition is excellent / near pristine vintage. All components original and intact. All enamel intact and lustrous maintaining even cream color. No dents or bends to metal components. All gold tone finish intact, front and back. Pin mechanism strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Near pristine vintage.
Reverse of the brooch is signed within an oval cartouche: "ALICE CAVINESS". Circa 1960s-1970s.
