"Czech" out this marvelous, authentic 1920s-1930s vintage green glass lozenge bead, faceted oval green art glass stone and round filigree metal bead necklace from Czechoslovakia. Much of the fashion jewelry of the time was made in Czechoslovakia, a major source of glass stones and beads. The necklace pictured is a prime example of some of their early work. Silvertone metal filigree beads space faceted, green lozenge beads. The centerpiece is a huge, faceted oval green glass stone, open back and bezel set in a wide, flared base embossed with leaf and berry details. Exquisitely Czech.
The necklace is a fixed approximate 15 1/4 inches long with spring ring clasp. Centerpiece measures about 1 1/2 inches x 1 1/8 inches with a 7/16 inch profile. The lozenge stones are approximately 19 millimeters x 15 millimeters. The large oval stone is a massive 28 millimeters x 20 millimeters. Weight of the necklace is about 37 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. End lozenge stone on male side and second stone from end on female side have some minor flea bites to sides. No stones have cracks or breaks. Center stone is about as perfect as it gets. Gorgeous color and brilliance with sharp, crisp facets. No chips, nicks, cracks or breaks to this awesome stone. Wonderful, consistent metal patina. Clasp strong and secure. No repairs.
Although it is difficult to read in the photograph, as many of the vintage Czech signatures are, the necklace is signed on it's original spring ring clasp with "CZECHOSLOV". It is a genuine 1920s-1930s vintage Czech necklace.
