Rhinestones, cabochons and art glass in marquise, pear and chaton cuts fan out, crescent style, around a large mauve colored chaton rhinestone in this '60s vintage pair of gold tone clip on cluster earrings. Some stones are foiled and closed back, others unfoiled and open back set. Colors include mauve, shades of green, aurora borealis and ice blue. It is interesting to note that although these earrings are an original pair with original stones, one earring includes a faceted unfoiled and open back ice blue marquise while the other features a closed back green cabochon marquise. All other components and construction methods are uniform.
The earrings measures approximately 1 1/4 inches x 1 inch with a 3/8 inch profile or height. Large mauve chatons are about 15 millimeters; marquises, 15 millimeters x 7 millimeters. Weight the earrings pair is 18 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestone and art glass stones retain colors and sparkle. No chips, nicks, cracks or breaks to stones. All soldering secure. Gold tone finish intact with minor wear on reverses only. Clips strong and secure. Clean. No damage / no repairs. Minimal wear. Excellent vintage.
The earrings are unsigned. Circa 1950s.
