Rise and shine with sumptuous Schreiner. A ridge of scalloped clear chaton rhinestones at base underscores large vertical set dog tooth pronged aurora borealis and mirrored bronze chaton rhinestones in this high rise '60s vintage combination brooch / pendant. Additional smaller aurora borealis chatons accent indented top. Six large brilliant clear rhinestones, variously described as pear, tear drop, pendeloque or briolette shaped point downward to a central mirrored bronze colored rhinestone. A similar example (with stone variations) can be seen in Tanenbaum and Townsend's "Schreiner" book. Indeed when referring to Schreiner's work, the authors state that this indented center "is one we have not seen in other manufacturers." Although the piece presented is unsigned, it is undoubtedly Schreiner.
The gold tone brooch / pendant measures approximately 2 1/4 inches across with a 5/8 profile or height. Pear shaped rhinestones are about 15 millimeters, largest chatons, 12 millimeters. Weight of the brooch / pendant is 36 grams.
