DeLizza & Elster's soaring silvery bird pin flies high and mighty into the hearts of vintage costume jewelry collectors and aficionados. An example of this figural can be seen in Katerina Musetti's "The Art of Juliana Jewelry". Our presentation offers unfoiled and open backed sleek jet black navettes as wings and tail feathers and a large inky black briolette shaped art glass body. Head is represented by an aurora borealis chaton rhinestone, beaked with an unfoiled and open backed, pear shaped smoky quartz glass stone. Remaining accent stones are ab chatons.
The brooch measures approximately 2 5/8 inches x 2 1/2 inches with a 1/4 inch profile or height. Navettes are about 18 millimeters x 5 millimeters; pear shaped briolette stone, 20 millimeters and largest chaton, 11 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is 14 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All stones free from chips, nicks, cracks or breaks. Faceted opaque black stones retain glossy, lustrous glow. Beak stone, translucent smoky quartz color. Aurora borealis stones retain treatment and sparkle. No dents or improper bends to metal components. Pin mechanism strong and secure. Silver tone finish intact, front and back. Clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
