Sole proprietor Joseph Warner of New York designed consistently high quality jewelry from circa 1953-1971. Signature looks include cat, insect and floral and Christmas tree pieces, sometimes in japanned or rhodium finish. Large brooches featuring top quality rhinestones are also included in the portfolio.
The brooch presented, circa 1950s, boasts an array of square or princess cut, pear shaped and baguette rhinestones. The clip cornered square brooch displays a top level box of square cut rhinestones. Each side is set with pitched or raked baguette rhinestones in "V" form. Clipped corners pop with trios of two sizes of pear shaped rhinestones. Wonderful geometric dynamics with stone angles and cuts that capture sparkle from every direction. Warner at it's edgiest.
The brooch measures approximately 2 inches across with a 1/4 inc profile or height. Square cut stones are about 6 millimeters; baguettes 6 millimeters x 2 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is 22 grams.
