Delora appears to have made gold filled jewelry in the earlier part of the 20th century. Production seems to have been limited as examples rarely surface.
The necklace presented, circa 1920s-1930s, features a delicate, very finely linked golden chain with cut out flat link stations. A scored pie slice bail is suspended with a bowed foliate and floral open work pendant. At center a bezel set, scissor cut blue topaz glass stone sparkles.
The necklace is a wearable fixed approximate 17 inches with spring ring clasp. Pendant including bail provides an additional 1 3/4 inches. The pendant proper is about 1 3/8 inches x 3/4 inch with a 1/4 inch profile or height. Faux blue topaz is approximately 13 millimeters x 9 millimeters. Weight of the necklace is about 6 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. Chain links, stations. bail and clasp secure. Pendant free from of dents or improper bends with wonderful age commensurate patina. Unfoiled and open back glass stone secure within setting and free of chips, nicks, cracks or breaks. Wonderful blue topaz color. Note: The chain's station design and finish complement the pendant beautifully and we believe it to be original / correct to the necklace. Light gold fill wear on chain / stations. No polishing done. Clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
The necklace is signed on a metal link tag near closure: "DELORA" and beneath within a triangle shape: "AR". No markings apparent on pendant or bail. Metal content not stated but we believe it to be gold filled. Circa 1920s-1930s.
