Made popular by Trifari with it's '40s vintage jelly belly line, the '60s vintage fawn brooch presented uses a lustrous faux tiger's eye glass cabochon as it's belly. Long, graceful legs in finely textured gold tone balance on a bed of leafy foliage dotted with a trio of clear chaton rhinestone accents. The fawn's head is turned back over it's body, ears perked high. A single red rhinestone accents the eye. A short spiked tail signals attention.
The brooch measures approximately 2 3/8 inches x 1 1/4 inches at it's widest point. Faux quartz tiger's eye cabochon is about 18 millimeters x 13 millimeters. Base chaton rhinestones are 3 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is 18 grams.
Condition is excellent / near pristine vintage. All component original and intact. Glass cab has wonderful subtle banded brown color and luster with no chips, nicks, cracks or breaks. Foliage base rhinestones retain brilliance. Tiny red rhinestone eye retains color and sparkle. No dents or bends to metal components. All gold tone finish intact, front and back. Pin mechanism secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Near pristine vintage.
The brooch is not signed. It's top quality design, materials, stone setting method and precise construction strongly suggest maker Mazer / Jomaz . Circa 1960s.
