Miriam Haskell shines on with her '50s vintage French clip earrings laden with wired crystal glass beads, rose montee rhinestones and large round mirrored glass cabochons. Loops of faceted glass beads separated by tiny golden accent beads are wired onto a filigree back plate. An inner crescent of wired rose montees rhinestones supply additional sparkle while large mirrored glass cabochons take center stage. (The cabochons are attached to button like shanks wired onto the filigree plates.) The hand constructed medley of materials is a testament to the ingenuity and expertise of the craftspeople at Haskell.
The earrings measure approximately 1 1/4 inches x 1 inch with a 1/2 inch profile or height. Round glass cabs are about 11 millimeters; largest glass beads, 5 millimeters. Weight of the earring pair is 16 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All wiring appears secure. Glass beads, rhinestones and glass cabs free from chips, nicks, cracks or breaks. Glass cabs retain high gloss mirror back glow. Brass tone finish on separator beads and filigree back plate has unpolished patina. French earrings clips are a soft silver tone. These two tone finishes are common on Haskell's earlier earrings. Earring clips strong and secure. Each earring is hand constructed -- no two are exactly alike. Clean. Minimal wear. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
The reverse of each earring is signed in a circular pattern at solder point: "MIRIAM HASKELL". Circa 1950s.
The pride of the past. Handcrafted Haskell. At Cody's.
