Clara Kasavina and Misha Berger began an artisan accessory and jewelry business in Long Island, New York in the 1980s. Many designs feature the '80s-'90s glam look, often incorporating large gold tone / silver tone metal components, sometimes embellished with beads.
The necklace presented, circa 1994, is a bit more understated with bilateral gold tone book chains interspersed with black round and faceted, tapered barrel beads. A brushed gold tone frame pendant inset with a black glass slab is suspended with a cone capped, black glass obelisk bead.
The necklace is adjustable from about 16 1/2 inches to 17 1/2 inches with O ring extension chain and lobster claw clasp. Pendant is approximately 2 3/4 inches x 7/8 inches at it's widest point with a 1/4 inch thickness. Round glass beads are about 8 millimeters. Weight of the necklace is 46 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All chain links secure. All lustrous black glass beads, insert and obelisk free from chips, nicks, cracks or breaks. Gold tone finish intact, front and back of pendant and on chain links. Clasp strong and secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Reverse of the pendant is signed within an oval cartouche: "CLARA STUDIO FOR ASYMMETRY" and "1994" with copyright symbol. Circa 1994".
