Welcome to the world of Weiss where beads beguile and rhinestone reign. The company produced a plethora of pretties from 1942-1971. It's signature classic look was a combination of smoky quartz colored rhinestones (promoted as the "Black Diamond Look") and pave rhinestone loops or icing. Also noted for it's "Long Stemmed Beauties" and wonderful rhinestone parures, Weiss had an assortment of adornments for any occasion.
The button style, slightly domed clip earrings presented, circa 1950s-1960s, feature multi pronged rhinestone chatons in two sizes in a brilliant fuchsia or purplish pink color. Brass tone mesh tubing or piping encircles the stones with a solid cap at base.
The earrings measure approximately 1 1/8 inches across with a 3/8 inch profile or dome. Rhinestones chatons are about 12 millimeters and 5 millimeters. Weight of the earrings pair is 16 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. All stones retain color and brilliance with no chips, nicks, cracks or breaks. All secure within multi pronged settings. Mesh tubing retains shape with no kinks, dents or depressions. Brass tone finish has age commensurate patina. No polishing done. Earring clips strong and secure. Some minor finish wear to reverse of earrings' bases and clips' contact points. Clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Reverse of each earring clip signed: "WEISS". Circa 1950s-1960s.
When it comes to rhinestones, Weiss rules. The choices are yours. At Cody's.
