The ever popular cameo gained even more notoriety as Coro began memorializing the ubiquitous profile, most associated with the Victorian era. The 1950s vintage brooch presented hearkens back to this more robust, romantic period. A profusion of graduating gold tone foliage swirls, scrollwork and beading surround the fancy prong set simulated cameo in cream and caramel shell shades. A peridot green colored rhinestone accents center of décolletage. Lustrous imitation pearls and tiny clear rhinestones complement throughout.
The brooch measures approximately 2 inches x 1 5/8 inches with a 3/8 inch profile or height. Largest faux pearls are about 2 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is 18 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. Simulated pearls retain nacre and luster. Molded cameo free from damage. Neckline rhinestone brilliant. Tiny border rhinestones show some age dimming. Gold tone finish intact, front and back. No dents or improper bends to metal components. Pin mechanism secure. Clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Reverse of brooch is signed in familiar script: "Coro". Circa 1950s.
