Once upon a time when rhinestones ruled, Weiss was considered one of the kings of costume jewelry. The necklace presented provides us with a peek into the past in all it's glittering glory. Spectacular in every way, the platinum tone rhodium plated choker is chock full of brilliantly clear chaton and baguette rhinestones. Baguettes border the decorative section as rows of chatons fill. Necklace center slashes dramatically at front. Bilateral rhinestone chains secure with hinged, box clasp. Beautiful fit and feel, with all the finesse and fanfare of first class Weiss.
The unsigned necklace is a fixed approximate 14 inches with hinged, push in box clasp. Decorative center span about 9 inches. Side panels are about 1 inch wide; diagonal slash, 2 1/8 inches at widest point. Center slash drops approximately 3 1/4 inches. Largest chaton rhinestones are 8 millimeters, baguettes, 8 millimeters x 4 millimeters. Weight of the necklace is a respectable 80 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. The necklace has been professionally restored with reverse soldering reinforcements. The tongue portion of the clasp has been replaced, ensuring a secure closure. All prong set rhinestones remain uniformly clear and brilliant. No cloudy, dark, yellow or dead stones. Superb sparkle. All rhodium plate intact, front and back. Soldering secure with no detachment or gaps. Choker is semi flexible for fit and feel with partial rigidity for a "stay put" premium presentation. All bilateral rhinestone chain links secure. Clasp strong and secure. Extremely clean. Repairs / restoration reflected in price. Excellent vintage.
