Cobalt / cornflower blue oval rhinestones form the buds and petals of this charming '30s-'early '40s vintage brown and green enamel pot metal floral bouquet brooch. Clear chaton rhinestones accents abound throughout. Much of this early beautifully crafted work in pot metal, including rosette topped blossoms, pronged and inset bud stones, hand brush stroked enamel stems and rhinestone ribbon binding was the creation of costume jewelry giant Coro. Our presentation from the period is unsigned or the markers mark may be too faint to decipher.
The brooch measures approximately 3 inches 2 1/4 inches with a maximum 1/2 inch profile or height. Larger oval rhinestones are about 10 millimeters x 8 millimeters; smaller ovals, 8 millimeters x 6 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is 22 grams.
Condition is very good vintage. All components intact. All blue rhinestone ovals intact retaining color and sparkle / shine. One of the bud ovals has an approximate 4 millimeter surface scratch that appears to have occurred some time ago. The foil backings on the bud stones have some compromise. Backings are intact on the blossom ovals. All clear rhinestones are intact, some with age commensurate dimming. Enamel intact and lustrous with very minor wear. No dents or improper bends to pot metal components. Pin mechanism secure. No damage / no repairs. Presents wonderfully. Very good vintage.
The brooch is not signed or the mark it too faint to read. Circa 1930s-'early 1940s.
