Early, we're thinking '1920-1930s, brass tone fan / garland shaped brooch is tab / bezel, closed back set with lustrous, smooth glass cabochon rounds, baguettes and a single bullet (high domed round) in shades of jewel tone greens, reds and blues. Amazing stone colors and iridescence / glow akin to gripoix / stained glass, setting methods, construction and overall presentation indicate a well made and likely more expensive piece. A rich, dark patina has imparted an antiqued brass tone finish to the metal. The pin's locking wheel is the older lever style, rather than the roll over clasp used in more contemporary brooches.
The brooch measures approximately 3 inches x 1 5/8 inches at it's widest point with a 3/8 inch maximum profile (bullet cab / setting height). Ruby red high domed cab is about 9 millimeters; green and blue baguettes, 7 millimeters x 3 millimeters and red glass round cabs, 2 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is 32 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. All glass cabs intact, retaining lustrous sheen and color. No chip, nicks, cracks or breaks to stones. All secure within their tab / bezel settings. No dents or improper bends to metal components. Patina intact with no polishing done. Pin mechanism secure. Locking wheel is tight and strong (keep in mind that it's locking position is different that a conventional locking wheel's.) Clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
The brooch is signed on reverse in two places with a block capital "G". No other markings visible. Circa 1920s-1930s.
