The eyes and ice of Eisenberg are yours in it's 1940s vintage emerald cut rhinestone choker necklace with pave rhinestone ribbon overlay and sparkling briolette drops. The essence of Eisenberg endures with classic substance and style that remains as fashionable today as when created.
The silver tone articulated necklace chain features clear emerald cut rhinestones, each set within a pronged basket, hinged to the next for optimum fit, feel and flexibility. A rhinestone set tongue snaps tightly into the box clasp while a detachable safety chain secures. At center a slightly asymmetrical ribbon sash rests, aglitter with pave set rhinestones. Part of the sash fits under and part over the rhinestone chain. Two sizes of basket / cradle set briolette (pear shaped) rhinestones dangle from sash's tips.
The necklace measures approximately 16 1/2 inches long with push in box clasp and detachable safety chain. Center ribbon sash overlay is about 2 inches x 1 5/8 inches at it's widest point with a maximum 7/16 inch profile or height. Emerald cut rhinestones are approximately 8 millimeters x 6 millimeters; larger briolette drop, 13 millimeters x 11 millimeters; smaller briolette, 11 millimeters x 9 millimeters. Weight of the necklace is 54 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All rhinestones intact and uniformly clear and brilliant. No dark, cloudy, or dead stones. No chips, nicks, cracks or breaks to stones. All emerald cut rhinestones secure within pronged settings, retaining proper alignment. No improper bends or kinks to rhinestone chain. Clasp and safety chain strong and secure. Ribbon overlay retains proper shape and remains neatly and securely soldered. Silver tone finish intact, fronts and backs of rhinestone chain and overlay. Some wear to reverse of briolette drops' settings, as shown in photographs. All pave ribbon / icing stones intact and brilliant. Briolette stones free from chips, nicks, cracks or breaks, retaining incredible clarity with crisp, clean stones that catch and pitch the light fantastic for that signature ethereal Eisenberg effect. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
Reverse of necklace's original box clasp signed in block caps: "EISENBERG". Although faint, reverse of overlay ribbon is also signed in block caps: "EISENBERG" along with un unclear marking, perhaps a stone setter's or inventory identification. The necklace dates circa 1940s-early 1950s.
