A delightful pair of enameled face pins, circa 1950s, feature lustrous black enamel complexions with golden highlights, green rhinestone eyes, blue rhinestone earrings, and gold tone turbans embellished with square cut blue rhinestones and silver tone plumes set with clear chaton rhinestones.
Each pin measures approximately 1 3/8 inches x 11/16 inch with a 3/8 inch profile or height. Square cut blue rhinestones are 4 millimeters. Weight of the pair of pins is 22 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. Black enamel largely intact. Minor wear (or perhaps highlighted by design) to cheeks, eyebrows, nose tips, lips and chins. We think that some of these gold tone areas were created intentionally. All gold tone and silver tone finishes intact, front and back. All rhinestones intact and brilliant retaining applicable colors. "White" rhinestones uniformly clear and brilliant. No dents or improper bends to metal. Pin mechanisms secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
The pins are not signed. Design, subject matter, materials and construction suggest a 1940s-1950s vintage.
