A cornucopia of colors combust in a combination of cabochons, specialty stones and rhinestones in this wonderful '60s vintage gold tone cluster brooch. The list includes lustrous, translucent and opaque glass cabochons, a reverse set stippled, faceted oval , a reverse set faux moonstone rectangle, various rhinestones in clear, blue and aurora borealis, a givre, faceted rectangle, and a faceted oval art glass stone, unfoiled and open back set. Cuts offered are square, oval, round, pear, rectangle chaton and marquise. Myriad colors include green, blue, pink, topaz, honey, aurora borealis, among others.
The brooch measures approximately 2 1/4 inches x 2 inches with a 1/2 inch profile or height. Large oval and rectangular stones are about 18 millimeters x 13 millimeters; large marquises, 15 millimeters x 7 millimeters. Weight of the brooch is 24 grams.
Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. All pronged stones intact with no chips, nicks, cracks or breaks, retaining finishes, treatments, colors, luster and sparkle. No dents or improper bends to metal components. Gold tone finish intact, front and back. Pin mechanism secure. Extremely clean. No damage / no repairs. Excellent vintage.
The brooch is not signed. It's design, materials, color, construction and overall presentation suggest a 1960s vintage.
