DEMARIO. Truly one of THE top names in vintage beads. When you see, hold, and feel a DeMario piece the conversion begins. With all due respect to the others, Demario's pieces are not only rare since they were created only for about 20 years, his choice of bead textures, shapes, colors, and combinations are second to none. First Class all the way.
Check out this amazing 1950s-1960s vintage Robert DeMario three strand necklace with matching clip earrings. Shades of purple abound in pearlized beads, faceted aurora borealis glass beads, and free form mottled glass beads, swirled and speckled with a full range of purple hues. Tiny gun metal beads space. Silver tone end bars are set with the multiprong set rhinestones in complementing bead colors (A DeMario hallmark.) Hook closure is embellished with a rhinestone set silvertone flower blossom -- another DeMario trademark.
The set includes the three row necklace, adjustable to about 16 1/2 inches. It is difficult to gauge the width but when placed side by side the three strands are approximately 1 1/2 inches wide. Of course the strands drape down lower in real life on real people. The largest beads is about 13 millimeters across -- the smallest, about 6 millimeters. The clip earrings are approximately 1 1/4 inches x 1 inch. Weight of this parure is about 158 grams.
Condition is excellent / pristine vintage. All components appear original and are intact. All beads intact, retaining wonderful color, sparkle and luster. There are no nicks, chips, cracks, missing nacre, scratches or abrasions to any beads. All strands appear secure with no slack or over pull. All rhinestones intact and brilliant. All silvertone finish intact. No verdigris. Earring beads remain securely wired to filigree framework. Clips secure. No damage / no repairs. Obviously well cared for.
The original hook is signed with "DEMARIO". The earrings are not signed but are a definite part of the set. What we've been telling you about keeping sets together, rings true once more!
